Landing Pad / Tethering Target Configuration¶
This section covers the basic setup and configuration of the ARC Secondary constellation, which forms the target position for landing or tethering operation. Unless otherwise specified, references to the landing pad in this section are also applicable to Tethering mode target setup.
ARC supports many different landing pad configurations and is entirely configurable to the space you have.
Recomended Starting Configuration¶
The Sensoriis recomended starting configuration is described below. It is aimed at getting the first flight test completed to ensure everything is configured correctly.
Place the ARC Secondary devices in a triangle that matches the image below. It is important to make sure that the triangle side lengths are accurate, as this affects the positional accuracy of ARC.

The 1.5m side length equilateral triangle shown above gives good positional accuracy whilst not taking up a large amount of space in the landing area. Larger constellations lead to a greater seperation between the ARC secondary units, which leads to lower variance measurements and more accurate tethering accuracy/stability. For initial testing, the devices can be laid out by hand on level ground. It is important that the devices are placed with centimeter accuracy, and this can be achieved with a simple tape-measure.
Customised Constellation Configuration¶
For custom configurations, a new landing pad configuration can be set on the primary (airside) device using the Sensoriis ARC Configurator web tool. Instructions on how to do this can be found in the Web Tool Reference page.
